Bolting Services

Total Service Center

With more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Continental specializes in bolting services, providing a complete infrastructure for equipment rental, technical support, calibration, and joint integrity solutions.

Bolting and torque equipment consists of specialized tools used to precisely tighten and loosen bolted connections in critical industrial systems, such as piping, pressure vessels, flanges, and structural components.

These tools ensure that the correct torque or tension is applied to each bolt, guaranteeing uniform load distribution across the joint.

The most common equipment includes hydraulic torque wrenches, bolt tensioners, hydraulic pumps, and torque multipliers, all designed to provide controlled and repeatable tightening with high precision.

Square Drive SQD Hydraulic Torque Wrenches

  • Torque range from 400 Nm to 50,000 Nm

  • Lightweight aluminum construction

  • High accuracy

  • Equipped with swivel couplings

Widely used in flange assembly and maintenance operations, ensuring precise tightening, uniform load distribution, and the integrity of critical mechanical joints.

Bolting Accessories

  • Impact sockets

  • Reaction wrenches (backup wrenches)

  • Hex reducers

  • Hydraulic and pneumatic hoses

  • Adapters

  • Manual spanners (wrenches)

Continental provides all essential auxiliary equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable bolting operations.

Flange Separators

Used for flange separation, these tools are widely applied in industrial operations such as piping maintenance and construction, testing, flange replacement, gasket replacement, and pressure vessel maintenance.

Tool selection is based on the available gap between flange faces and the flange size.

Flange Management

Flange management provides systematic control and documentation of flange assembly, tightening, inspection, and testing activities. It supports bolt load control, gasket joint integrity, traceability, and leak prevention in critical piping systems.

Low Profile LP Hydraulic Torque Wrenches

  • Torque range: 400 Nm to 50,000 Nm

  • Lightweight aluminum construction

  • High precision

  • Equipped with swivel couplings

Designed for tightening and loosening bolted connections in areas with limited access. Their compact design allows operation in confined spaces, ensuring precise torque application while maintaining the integrity of critical flanges and mechanical assemblies.

Topside Hydraulic Bolt Tensioners

Used to apply controlled tension to bolts and studs during flange assembly and maintenance, ensuring uniform load distribution, improving joint integrity, and reducing the risk of leaks in critical equipment and topside piping systems.

Hydraulic Nut Splitters

  • Range: 32 mm to 75 mm

Nut splitters are hydraulic tools designed to safely cut and remove seized, corroded, or damaged nuts without damaging bolt threads, enabling faster and safer maintenance operations.

Flange Aligners

Available in models from 1 to 10 tons, with mechanical or hydraulic operation.

Used to correct and align flange bolt holes during installation or maintenance. They ensure proper positioning of piping flanges, facilitating safe assembly and accurate bolt insertion.

Pneumatic and Electric Hydraulic Power Units

Pneumatic and electric hydraulic power units provide the hydraulic power required to operate tools such as torque wrenches and bolt tensioners.

These units deliver controlled pressure and flow, ensuring precise, safe, and efficient operations during bolting and maintenance activities.

Subsea Hydraulic Bolt Tensioners

Designed to apply controlled tension to bolts and studs in subsea applications. They ensure uniform load distribution and secure fastening of critical submerged connections, contributing to the integrity and reliability of subsea equipment and pipeline systems.

Hydraulic Torque Wrench Calibration

Tool calibration ensures that torque wrenches deliver accurate and reliable torque values during bolting operations.

Air-Operated and Electric Continuous-Rotation Torque Wrenches

  • Designed to deliver fast, reliable, and highly precise bolting operations, these tools provide excellent performance in critical tightening applications.

  • Torque range: 400 Nm to 8,000 Nm

  • Reduction of bolting operation time by up to 70%

Manual Torque Wrenches

  • Torque range: 10 Nm to 1,000 Nm

  • Click, beam, dial, micrometer, and spigot models.

High-precision torque wrenches for safe, efficient, and reliable bolting operations in critical applications.

Air-Operated and Battery-Operated Torque Wrench Calibration

Ensures that torque tools apply the correct values during operations. Periodic calibration guarantees accuracy, compliance with industry standards, and greater reliability and safety of bolted connections.

Torque Safety Device

The Torque Safe Device is a safety device specifically developed for hydraulic torque wrenches, providing enhanced protection for technicians during operation. This device improves the safety of hydraulic torque head positioning, reducing the risk of hand crushing injuries.

The use of hydraulic torque wrenches often requires two operators due to bolt positioning, the weight of the torque head, and the handling of reaction sockets and accessories. Typically, one operator controls the on/off activation, while the other positions the hydraulic torque head.

During maintenance or corrective maintenance activities, multiple tasks are often performed simultaneously in the same area. These environments can be challenging, with high noise levels, repetitive tasks, and slow operational conditions. These factors may lead to distractions and communication failures between operators, increasing the risk of serious accidents.

The Torque Safe Device helps mitigate these risks by improving operational control and enhancing safety during hydraulic torque wrench operations.

Quality, integrity, and commitment.
